EmulationStation Themes

AmberELEC/PAN4ELEC has the best theme compatibility. ArkOS uses an older EmulationStation version and lots of themes from the Emulationstation-OGA-Theme-Gallery have problems on ArkOS, like a cut off battery percentage and menu navigation. Some are even causing crashes when applying grid game list style, and some theme configuration options may be broken on ArkOS.

The following themes have been tested on the BATLEXP G350 running ArkOS. Screenshots have been taken directly from the device via ssh.

Editing and Creating Themes

If you want to make a new theme, edit or add layouts, fonts, features, sizes, etc. on an existing theme you need to edit code in the xml files. If you don't have experience with editing code in xml files, it's suggested to start by making small changes like text or image position to a theme which you like. For fast testing you can transfer changed files via wifi and change any theme setting to refresh the changes. You can also test on PC with Retrobat after changing resolution to 640x480.
